MJBand
How does it differ? MJBand is named after it's author, Michael Barnes. The variant is in it's infancy at the moment, but judging from the changes made to Angband 2.8.5, it looks like we could be in for a treat...
New to 0.0.5; Weapon enchantment is now maximized at the weapons base dice damage. Branded weapons increase both dice damage and the weapons +to damage. Some branded weapons will increase a spellcaster's power.
New to 0.0.5a; Several new monsters have been added, thanks to Jonathan Ellis. 4 Ring activations. Unified spellcasting. Point based character creation.
New to 0.0.6; Added the Elementalist class. Useless equipment becomes interesting - Rings of Stupidity and Weakness have given way to Rings of Brutality and Geekness. Ring of Aggravate Monster now has Resist Fear. Added a degree of combat-based stat loss. Creatures which can 'point at you and curse' now get a chance to curse your equipment. Rebalanced weapons once more - now a random amount of the weapons plus to damage is added before brands/slays are calculated, and the remainder afterwards. Future proofed save files (hopefully!)
