| How does it differ? |
Going stands for Globe of Invulnerability - Next Generation, from what I can
gather. GoI has been altered thus; monster distance attacks bypass invulnerability,
attempting to engage in hand-to-hand combat while invulnerable just has you switch
places with that monster. Patches galore have been included; Tim Baker's Easy Patch
1.1, Tim Baker's Recall Patch 1.0, dsb's rod-sorting patch, Daniel Nash's wizard
artifact creation patch 1.2, James D. Lockwood's store examine patch, David
Blackston's damage rating patch, Keldon Jones' monster AI patch, Greg Wooledge's
fear/sleep health bars along with the authors own confusion/stun bars. 2.8.3v3 sees
the implementation of lots of stuff from GW-Angband - including the three GW
classes, but not the random artifacts. Zangband's time of day command appears,
along with the Seeker Arrow of Bard. Joseph W. Dixon's custom artifacts have been
included, along with some more new monsters from r.g.r.a posts. 2.8.3v4 sees
monster speech, as in Kamband and Zangband. Turned off auto-pickup. Under the
knowledge command, there is now a self knowledge sub-command. Added circular rooms
from Ying-Yangband. Applied Keldon Jones' 'center panel on player' patch. Added
dungeon level/max to the character display. Altered drops and levels of chests.
Alter Reality now creates a new town and updates the stores.
