| How does it differ? | Amberband aims to be loosely based on Zangband, being primarily based around Zelazny's books, and addressing some of the shortcomings found in Zangband. Races and classes will see a drastic revision, and the system of magic will have to be torm down and rebuilt from scratch, since Angband's flavour of magic is almost completely incompatible with the powers represented in the Zelazny books. All references to the works of Tolkien, Lovecraft and any other authors are to be removed. Featured races will be Amberite, Chaos Lord, Mixed Breed and Shadow Human. Classes will be Warrior, Mage, Priest and Trump Artist. The stats will now be Strength, Psyche, Endurance, Warfare, Charisma and Luck. Spell casters will now be able to choose three realms from Pattern, Logrus, Shape-Shifting, Conjuring, Sorcery and Trump Artistry. Realm choice will vary depending on class and race. | |
